BEAUTÉ BREAD
(GF+DAIRY FREE)
Obsessed wit this high-fibre, gluten and diary free loaf - as someone who has always loved bread and has struggled to have it in her diet due to my sensitive DNA, this has been the absolute best bread substitution, balancing my blood sugar and keeping me full just after one slice.
Beauté Benefit: Fibre is essential at helping the body eliminate toxins and extra waste (which when we don’t get enough can wreck havoc on our complexion) making sure you get enough fibre is essential for the inside-out glow we all strive for.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup psyllium husk
1/2 cup ground flaxseed
1/3 cup chia seeds
1/3 cup hemp seeds
1/2 cup pepita seeds
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup whole flaxseed
2 teaspoons sea salt
2 cups boiled filtered water
2 tablespoons raw organic honey
1/4 cup olive oil
STEPS
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees
2. In a bowl add psyllium husk and flaxseed and mix until well combined
3. Add in chia seeds, hemp seeds, pepitas, walnuts, flaxseed and salt and blend until well combined
4. Add honey to the boiling water, adding to the mixture once all the honey has melted
5. Add olive oil
6. stir until combined, the mixture should come to a gooey paste and stick together, add more water if necessary
7. transfer to a loaf baking dish, lined with unbleached baking paper
8. Bake in the oven for 40minutes
9. set aside to cool for 45mins or until cool enough to cut.
10. store in an air tight container in the pantry
Reheat a slice in the toaster, pan or oven if you love it warmed up, or enjoy at room temperature with savoury or sweet toppings.
